michael bay's movies are incredibly shallow and one dimensional

yet they somehow always wind up being incredibly awesome (the rock and armageddon being some of my favorite movies).

I proudly have every Michael Bay film in my dvd/blu ray library. What makes Bay so great in my mind is that he taps into the need for visceral entertainment. While most directors nowadays want to make philosophical thinking action pictures that try to make it's audience question their morals, Bay makes exciting, edge of your seat entertainment of the purest kind. The man is fearless.

Michael Bay is one of my favorite directors in over a decade and a half. Before Transformers, my favorite movies were The Rock and Armageddon. Why those two? Well, it's because I like them a lot. He has a sense of his own visual style of filmmaking. I have a collection of his movies except I'm waiting on Transformers 2 to come out on DVD.
