This is a video showing Copenhagens unique bicycle culture as it looks in the beginning of the early 21st century.

A monumental motion of everyday people transporting themselves from A to B by pure pedal power.

-Each day 37% of everybody in Copenhagen arrives at work or education by bicycle.
-25% of all families with two kids in the city own a cargo bike.
-And the 519,000 inner city copenhageners own 560,000 bicycles!

This video highlights who Copenhageners are and what they do. I shot it over a period of four months.

Dur: 3 min 26 sec.

Excellent video footage! I could watch this for hours and see new things each time! Great musical score, as well! Lots of people in and around Copenhagen will be singing this song in their best techno voice! I am absolutely thrilled with this video!

Every time I see your videos I miss Copenhagen so much. The only thing that reminds me on Copenhagen is my bike.

Thank you so much for this impressions and the way you make and cut your movies.

Excellent, excellent video. The most important thing this video shows me, as a working guy from Pittsburgh, PA, USA (and will show others) is that Copenhagen is not some weather paradise or postcard city, it is a real working city, people go to jobs, take the kids to school, do the shopping, and occasionally kick back and have fun, on bikes. And it could happen here. Thanks.

Excellent... Great editing... I liked the little reverses, myself.

What did you shoot this on?

    That was Awesome!

Living in America I have raised my children to see cycling as the norm in a country that revolves around the automobile

Many thanks for you wonderful videos.

It is springtime in Magog (Québec, Canada). We had our first meeting of our bicycling club and I feel like I had a great ride in Copenhagen. Thank you.

Great work! Really beautiful compositions. The flocks of bikers are something to see from up high, and I love the little personal moments. Gives cities in the U.S. something to shoot for.

thanks, everyone! I shot it on a Sony HDV over a few months. It was colour-graded at the end of the editing process. 9 hours of raw material boiled down to 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Quite a challenge.

You have creatively summarized a very realistic vision for us in the States. Cycling can and should be a major component in reducing fossil fuel use and wasted time in congestion, fighting our obesity epidemic, clearing the air and generating happiness! :)

Fantastic job Mr. Andersen. I most enjoyed it. How I wish my city planners (Bangalore, India) here have a look at this and make better provisions for bicycling here and make it a bicycle friendly city.

Once again thanks very much for sharing.

    Cheers

Nice flow! Love the bits with juggling back and forth. Also nice spots with interaction between bikers. Now living in Cph for a month, my first and strongest impression was how huge the cykling culture here is.

I wish I could live there...
In my country I get abused when riding my bike on the road, and there is bugger all in the way of cycleways. In Sydney they want to put in cycleways but there are many people who say that it will reduce car parking..
We are so backward in Australia. A backward country full of car centric rednecks.

You dont want to employ an Australian as a photographer or something do you?
I will work for food and accomidation as long as you supply me with a bike and allow me to live there in paradise. :)
Im thinking of creating my own channel, Newcastle Australia, city of bastards who hate cyclists and cycling.
Truely, I would swap the warm weather, the nature, etc, for the chance to be somewhere where they actually wanted to encourage cycling..
