When we crossed over the border from Cambodia to Thailand we were shocked to see that over visas were only good for 15 days, when we needed to stay in the country for 5 weeks. Apparently, you can get a 30-day visa if you fly in, but we walked across the border on foot so we were only legal for 15 days.
So two weeks into our stay in Thailand we had to make a border run! 5 hours to get to the Thailand/Bur/ma border, a boat into Burma, and 5 hours home.
