Ugh I want to step through frame by frame so bad. My kingdom for a quicktime or is there a way to do it that I don't know about?

Nice. Was it Dale Oliver that did these final cleanup drawings? They're the best. The animation is great, too.

so how much was actually done by Milt Kahl or the inbetweeners? I thought there wasn't any clean up since they were using Xerox machines?
  • Nick Motrich 2 years ago
While The results are still a bit looser from other productions that had entire cleanup departments, there was still a less intensive process called 'touch-up'. it was usually just a tighter tie-down done by the assistants. I love the loose xerox-era features, you really get a better sense of intimacy from the animator!
p.s. Frame step and look for the drawings with circles or underlines on the numbers. Guaranteed to be Milt's work.

Heard this shot was great before, but seeing it again... WOW! the sense of weight is gorgeous.

  • As a child without knowing that I wanted to be an 2D animatior, I knew that this was my favorite part in The jungle book. Because of the way he moves, and the childish way of getting up that three...Perfect. Simply love it* gives me inspiration.
