When approached with this track I was at first thinking how the heck do I tackle this without being too typical and showing the direct literal translation of the song... upon listening to the song more and more and noticing the 2nd/3rd verse being written in first person, I then thought there is no way Im pitching something that has literal acted scene's it felt wrong.. So I came up with a very simple concept, lets have the characters in the song tell the viewer the story, if we put them in a mirror it will have a 1st person feel as if the viewer were in the characters shoes...
I wanted it to feel as if its a single shot clip with simple narrative moments to assist in painting the picture, so morphing was my solution, as opposed to having the mirror fog up..
In order to best tell this story I felt it less cheesy to use still images of moments in time that portray this, I wanted some movement however so had the idea to morph between two still images at a time, shot using burst mode on my Canon 5D mk2. The rest of the clip was shot on a Red MX with Ultra primes as the sharpest image was needed to successfully morph between shots.
