the grading is amazing, very filmic any tips or hints for me ;)
  • MUZIEKTELEVISIE.NL plus 7 months ago
    Thanks!

Basically I did the mishandled negative preset from MBL in combination with a blueish hue and a lowered gray level and in some shots an increased black level. For the purple looking shots I did the same thing as with my mill film. Good luck!

awsome vid! also liked the grading and the lens/bino artifacts a lot. what's this MBL you mentioned here? best, tamas
  • MUZIEKTELEVISIE.NL plus 5 months ago
Hey tamas, sorry for the late reply. MBL stands for Magic Bullet Looks, a fantastic plugin for Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro to do color grading.

    thanks!

You guys work is one of the good reasons why "film" as a support is now obsolete! Great achivement! The right music, the right day, the right choices and the right mood! Just not to say perfect I felt you could increase the grain level to bring more texture! A masterpiece, anyway!
  • MUZIEKTELEVISIE.NL plus 4 months ago
    Thanks Cid!

The grain you see is not digitally added, but is coming from a small binoculars I hold for my lense on many shots. I like how it turned out, but it's more luck then wisdom (if that's an English saying too ;-)

It's the most awesome dog ever! He has more personality then most people.

His name is Sjors and we got him for free from the dutch version of Ebay.

That´s right. I´ve noticed it in one shot of the dog in wich you remove it... I thoght it was some kind of filter or plastic sheet. It worked really well! But I still think the moving grain would increase in the mood and feel, like a super 8 homemade look. Just a suggestion based on personal taste. Your work is great!

Wow this video is amazing! The shots and the grading look so good. I used this song in my first video with rotoscoping, which is how I found your video. My video isn't even close to the caliber of yours, but if you ever get the chance to check out my video and give me some pointers, and advice, it would be MUCH appreciated!
