3 3. Jazz around... Creation for two trios
The classical trio – piano, violin and cello – is interpreting a well-known piece, while getting interrupted or supported by a jazz trio – piano, double bass and drums –, improvising on compositions by Jérôme Berney.
From there open a whole realm of musical possibilities, from solo to sextet, from free improvisation to compositions.
«3 3» has already « tackled» Maurice Ravel (Trio for piano, violin and cello) and Frank Martin (Trio on Popular Irish Folk Tunes).
A record, « 3 3. Jazz autour de Frank Martin », was released in the fall of 2010 (VDE-Gallo).
A new creation around Gabriel Fauré (Trio opus 120) is to premiere on August 10th 2012 in the Petit Globe in Yverdon-les-Bains.
