i'm with two of the most knowledgeable people I know, so it really makes this experience solid above and beyond any previous experience. But, I'm out here for 'work' so, it is demanding. Shakeit has been fairly reliable, though it has been crashing some on me. I still try to show it to everyone i can. It's a great app… fast, unique photos.

    Hello nick

    love your tutorials

I was wondering if you have the answer to my question and hope you can help me with it!

There is a video from charles hamilton on vimeo: vimeo.com/3363061

There is a camera movement that the camera is getting closer and further away. Love that style and i was wondering if you know the secret behind it!?

    Hope you can help!

it looks like a mix of 3 things. There are 3 ways of zooming in and out.
1 - zoom the camera lens. (lenses or cameras with focus rings let you control it very smooth and fast)
2 - zoom the camera lens while walking forward/backward to get crazy optical effects
3 - in post production enlarge the size of the video or "digital zoom"

4 - combine the walking, the normal zoom and post production scaling... and cut or fade the zooms... and I think you end up with something like that video clip.

    Good luck.

Hey Nick, great stuff you made here.
Think that a lot of people will like this.
I'm probably going to get an iPhone in the near future and I'd definitely use it.
(only problem is payment, credit cards in iTunes store etc from where I live.. but I'll find a way)

I'd love to hear more about how you developed this neat app.

    cheers
