Atlanta Tea Party - April 15, 2009

eternalvigilance

Atlanta Tea Party at the Georgia Capitol Building, on April 15, 2009. Official estimates are that somewhere between 15,000 to 20,000 people were there. I arrived 3 hours early so most of these were taken long before the event officially started.

The Tea Party protests held all around the country were about sending a message to our elected officials - in both parties - that We the People are fed up with reckless, out of control spending, and we are NOT willing to burden our children, grandchildren, and generations to come with unsustainable debt. We are also fed up with the continued erosion of our freedoms, and with the federal government's increasing intrusion into every aspect of our lives. We do NOT intend to be the generation that let the liberty and sovereignty of this nation - won and defended by patriots for over 200 years - disappear into the night. Our children deserve better.

This is just the beginning of a peaceful movement to remind the government that THEY work for US, not the other way around. We will continue to make our voices heard, and will speak loudly with our votes in the 2010 and 2012 elections.
