Background Info:
Dylan Tighes debut album "Record" is officially released on the 18th of May 2012, and available at
dylantighe.bandcamp.com
This Video was created by experimental filmmaker Paul Prendergast.
The release of this album is the first part of a larger project which culminates in the the world premiere of an “alternative opera” based on the songs from the album to be premiered during the Cork Midsummer Festival 2012.
Background to Video:
The music video, though edited digitally after a specialist telecine, was all originally shot on 16mm Film.
It fuses 16mm colour and Black+White reversal film(shot by paul) and intercuts this with both specialist found footage, sourced from Craig Baldwins Other Cinema Library in San Francisco and specially treated black and white blank leader film.
All the film has been hand processed, treated(painted on, bleached, scratched, attacked) and analog edited(steenbeck) by Paul at the LaborBerlin Artist run Filmlab, in Berlin, Germany.
Most of the imagery featured in the video is part of a larger 16mm Film, which will be screened and incorporated into RECORD, an "Alternative Opera" to be staged at the Half Moon Theatre in Cork, Ireland between June 22nd - June 30th.
