Very nice job. The style of the music and the graphics is excellent.

It's an insane amount of work if you consider that it hasn't been done with mograph.

Hey Nick, Thanks for the comment! It was the most complex thing I've ever had to do from a sound design perspective. It was alot of fun creating all of those sounds.

Hello, thats a great animation ever see jeje.. how many time render take to export this animation?, im work in cinema4D and is amazing that you make with this program nice job!
  • beeple plus 3 years ago
It took about one week to render on a couple computers. It would have taken a lot longer but R11 is quite quick!
  • James Lamacchio 2 years ago
How do you split up an animation like this when you render on different computers?

Looks great - but i may be missing something. Are you actually making a point about subprime mortgages? Or is this just a technical work out?
  • beeple plus 3 years ago
Good catch! I'd say 90% technical work out, 10% social statement...but don't tell anyone i told you that. Makes me seem smarter if people think it actually has some deeper meaning.... :)
  • Vandersault plus 3 years ago
First of all, this does appear as remarkably well done.

Respect for the skill taken to do this!

But I´m a bit disappointed to read what you write here.

    "don´t tell anyone..." .. that´s a bit funny as a public comment..

But given this, I truly hope you take that further on future work, because you could be making very meaningful big statements with your talent.

    Cheers!

    Joachim

    Whoww..excellente..very simple but very whaaaow....
all animation was render directly in 3D render ? or You use several render and compose it after ? A guy work on sfx... waht kind of sfx use it ( or maybe sfx is for sound design ?? ) So, all was render directly in 3D or did you use some fx or compositing ?
  • beeple plus 3 years ago
All animation was done directly in Cinema 4D. No compositing. The sound effects were done by Kyle Vande Slunt over at standingwavesound.com. I would highly, highly recommend his work as I gave him absolutely no direction on the sound/music and he fuck'n killed it.

I love the low poly style also, and the detail and fluidity of the animation. The sound effects are perfect!
  • NOBOT 3 years ago
Thanks Hayden! I'm glad you liked the sound effects. Its funny being a sound designer you rarely get comments on the sound. usually because good sound design goes unnoticed due to the "tyranny of the visual". But you've got good ears.

    Thanks!

This video is insane. I watched it 3x now and still am discovering stuff. I think my latest favorite is the fish swimming in the fish tank. I'm sure I'll discover something else later that blows me away just the same. Music sort of reminds me of good ol' Sim City, it's a perfect fit. Good work Mike and Kyle.
