On September, 2012, a psychologist, a chef, and audiovisual artist and four theater artists will board a bus in Quetzaltenango (Xela), Guatemala, en route to San Diego, California. Our journey will conclude in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 13. Following migrant routes through Guatemala and Mexico into the U.S., we will perform and develop our play, IRSE, at migrant shelters, cultural centers, and theaters along the way. The project will conclude with four performances of IRSE at the New Orleans Fringe Festival. We will offer theater and cooking workshops in each location, including Southern California and New Orleans, and document the whole experience on our blog. We expect that the play, and the participants, will be much changed by the end of the journey. SUPPORT THE IDEA!
