I noticed Dan Conway a few times, but no Tommy Valdez.
I am sad now.
Sad... sad...
Sad.
Kidding. It's great as always Steve. I thought the transition from black and white to color worked well. The rich tones were not lost. Great contrast. etc.
Beautiful indeed. It is amazing what you can do with still images and music. So amazing what you can actually take in...... Come find me, I do it, differently.
What a way to send a message! Beautifully done, I hung on every moment, hoping to catch a glimpse of everything - it can't be done. Frustration, but sure is life!
Wow! i Loved your piece! the music and everything.. goes so well together!
Gotta say, those pictures starting around 1:43, give a great feel of 70's film images. the colors and everything. is it all about CC, and the rest is the camera? cause it looks just Great! :]
This is powerful. Thanks for doing it! My only thought was that it didn't represent ethnically what most of us in America see everyday; the vast majority of people in the photography were white. Or maybe it was just moving so fast, I couldn't appreciate your inclusion of "all people". I loved it anyway. The music bed was PERFECT! Thanks again for your work.
This is beautiful and put a whole bunch of stuff in to perspective for me thiss week. I posted it on Twitter and immediately at least 2 blog posts were written about it!
A friend talked about how some Youtube clips cheered him up while feeling a bit glum and I think this too could be quite an important piece of film when we need hope. It's great.
Hi!I'm new in Vimeo and your movie is one of the firsts I saw.
It's really amazing. The most interesting aspect I like is the different "window" in the movie in which you put differents pictures with different effects!!!
Can I ask you which software you have used to make it?
thanks.
cheers,
MT
Stephen, I find myself returning time and again to rejoice in this piece! Pages could be written in an attempt to decode the layers and range of exactly what it is you have been able to capture and release in this simple but yet extremely complex personal piece of video. It gently reminds me of a comment my grandfather used to make in reference to the passage of time. I used to hear him making the comment, "The older I get, the faster time passes me by." As a young boy I couldn't understand what he meant but as a man of 46, it is perfectly clear! Thank you for helping bring even more clarity to such a personal heartfelt understanding!
Beautiful is definitely the right word.
I watched it twice, the second time I kept pausing randomly as it played to see which picture it lands on, had a good time doing it! ha! Thanks for taking the time to share that, I'm sure it took a while. Cheers!
It's funny someone had to comment on the people being white in it. LOL. Anywho. I thought it was fab. I have to do a life review for a meditation class and this looks like a cool way to do it...
This conversation is missing your voice. Take five seconds to join Vimeo or log in.
and anna's right; we'd all be bawling. =]

but thanks!
Love it.
If I may ask, what program did you use to cut this and how long did it take you?
Again, fantastic!
it took about maybe 10-12 hours total i'd say. every time i moved something, it had to be re-rendered.
thanks!
All the color pictures at the end are all of the black and white pictures from the frames at the beginning.
which means i like it!
Ambience sounds like digifish.

Thanks so much!
