It was late in the day when we stopped by Giba Village's new well site. The workers were getting ready to explode dynamite at the bottom of the hole in order to penetrate the rock, and we stayed to watch. Some of the villagers came out to serve us coffee and popcorn, and some practiced a little Italian.
