Though he’s known more as a pioneer of trip-hop, Portishead’s Geoff Barrow has recently been working on his 35-member hip-hop collective known as Quakers, whose members include Prince Po, Dead Prez, Aloe Blacc, Booty Brown (The Pharcyde) and many others. Quakers apparently boasts 35-members, but at its core are producers Fuzzface (Geoff Barrow of Portishead), 7Stu7 (Portishead engineer Stuart Matthews), and Katalyst (Australian producer Ashley Anderson). Culled from the collective’s self-titled debut, “Fitta Happier” stomps with heavy blasts o’ brass and the vocals of Stones Throw vets Guilty Simpson and MED.
