»What can you do that's fantastic?« A few weeks ago my friend Martin told me he is currently working on the transcription of Frank Zappa's »G-Spot Tornado« for guitar. I dig this song, especially the orchestral version, interpreted by Ensemble Modern in 1993. Hearing it, I imagine little fluffies, ants, »squalbs« (such as described by MMW on their amazing album »Let's Go Everywhere«) and other tiny creatures joining forces and marching against an evil power - such as human legs and stuff. Anyway, Martin asked me to film him performing his version of »G-Spot Tornado«, which is essentially a one by one transcription of the original track released on Frank Zappa's visionary studioalbum »Jazz From Hell«. Zappa himself considered the song »to be impossible to play by humans«. Well, Martin did it. I framed it. Here is what it sounds and looks like... »Whip it out!«
