Loops (single screen excerpt)
One continuous excerpt of one screen of Loops — a live, endless, multi-screen portrait of choreographer Merce Cunningham performing his 1970s "dance for hands".
Lots more information about this artwork can be found here openendedgroup.com/index.php/artworks/loops-2001-present/ .
This is the artwork that instigated the "Loops preservation project", some of the results of which you can see here bostoncyberarts.org/loops/ . All the code that "performs" this piece, the tools platform used to write that code, and the motion capture materials that it uses are freely available (under GPL3 and CC-BY-NC-SA licenses).
It's normally installed portrait on multiple 30inch displays (1600x2560), so I've had to pan and scan it to fit online.
