Wind was so strong that I couldn't hold the light tripod down with my frozen hands! I can't even feel the knob anymore when trying to gently zoom out. : )

Sand was being blown around so I only took a quick capture to safe the cam - and my frozen self.

    A question: with a CMOS camcorder (Canon HG10), is there any precautions to take when we shot the sun?

    Thanks Blueman. I thought this one was pretty bad actually. Shivers and all from the cold. LOL. It was more an experiment to see how the HD7 lens react to this kind of scene.
    You will have less problem shooting directly on bright light sources with the HG10 since its CMOS based. The light streaks you see fm 0:42 here is caused by CCDs. You have less problem. But do see not to over expose.
