Jimmy Longoria and friends hosted a reception for their exhibit at the University of Minnesota Urban Research and Outreach/Engagement Center. This exhibit featured Jimmy's Chicano-style paintings, hand-paint silk scarves by Kate Hondlik, and over 100 canvases painted by youth through Mentoring Peace Through Art. Mentoring Peace Through Art works to inspire change in youth through art in order to build stronger communities and minimize gang violence. "My passion is to make change," Longoria said, "and to get young people initiated in the process so they are able to make change."
