Kyrgyzstan, late summer. Five mountain ranges to the Chinese border twelve to Kazakhstan. Snow covered peaks, riverbeds winding through green valleys, nomads spending their summer in their yurts. Together with her son Manu, Ice Climber Ines Papert is on a journey through the country, heading towards Mount Kyzyl Asker for a first ascent climbing project. The camera follows Manu‘s point of view and is a reflection on what it means to be on a journey as a 11 year old child.
From the crowded market of Bishkek they travel south to Lake Issyk-Kul and the little side valleys, heading on to the highlands of Lake Song Kul before they reach the city of Naryn, the gateway to the Tian Shan mountains. One year before Ines had already been to the Kokshaal-Too valley for a first attempt on Kyzyl Asker.
Tyndýk is an invitation to a calm journey set against the background of the pristine Kyrgyz landscape.
