For our directing 131 class at City College, we were told to reach for the stars but more importantly, we were told to recreate a scene from a movie of our own choosing. I decided on Star Trek (2009).

This scene is the epic climax. James Kirk has been told by Spock Prime that in order for balance in the universe, Kirk must be captain of the Starship Enterprise and in order to do that, he must force Spock to resign his post as Captain. However, given their previous "talk" and consequent banishment to Delta Vega, Kirk is forced to show the crew that Spock is "emotionally" compromised by the mission. Spock Prime informs Kirk that it should be easy; Kirk thinks otherwise. So, Kirk and Scotty beam aboard the ship to complete their task and restore the rightful order on the ship.

I would like to thank my crew again for all their hard work, because this movie was not possible without them. I also would like to thank Caroline Blair, my directing teacher, who has been a great teacher and a role model.
