Nice to shoot something beautiful after all my mucking around with the video blogs. Fun as they are, my love is this sort of film making.
(Glad you kept the Morricone track!)
this is tom guilmette from tom guilmette dot com...
you make a madman like myself look "lazy" by pumping out all this stuff. nicely done.
what the hell did you do to pass the time with joe during those timelapses? did joe drop some of his lunch in the desert?
Joe went off with the 5dmk2 and i just sat with my top off in the sun giving myself skin cancer. I did a fine job!
i was thinking the same thing as steve,
goto NAB, 4 blog episodes, and have the time to do this too..
love the stuff as always
ps.. do you use a good PL filter? the sky is very well exposed.
Still got another blog to edit from my road trip too and did a half hour interview with macvideo.tv as well which should be online soon. Oh and then there is a proper 10 minute NAB round up coming on Monday!
great job my master Mr. Bloom....:)
Beautiful!
Chris.
i appreciate the consistent coloration with mbl in your work.
thanx for sharing your gorgeous work in the public art group.
cheers
Two questions:
1. Is Magic Bullet Look really that much better than FCP's Color and worth the extra software and cost? Judging by your work, it appears so, but just wondered what your thoughts were on that?
2. I was told last year when I bought the Letus Extreme that I couldn't use zoom lenses on on it, but you appear to be using at least two zoom lenses. And they appear to be working just fine for you. Is that so?
You can you use fast f2.8 constant zooms no problem with extreme.
I recently shot my first documentary and I did some time lapse, I drove out in to a field, set up shop and listened to an audio book for while...ha ha, no desert sun just an annoying amount of wind!
Thanks for taking us with you on your trip!
I'm interested in your answer to Kevyn's Question..

Zooms are fine as long as they are FAST!! They need to be constant f2.8 apertures like mine. Slow f4-f5.6 are useless with adaptors.
2 questions please?
1. What makeup is your computer, because I can't get MBL to work fast enough on my Pentium Duo 3 Ghz, so I don't even bother with it currently.
and
2. I watched it with HD off and the image was crystal clear and spectacular, how the heck did you render it?
(I thought it was clever!)
