Big Art Challenge. Five Arts call to action promo. 2004

Described to me as “‘X factor for artists” this new show required a ‘call to action’ sequence to alert the public.
It was necessary to encourage viewers to put themselves forward and compete with their personal art. The brief for me was to visually communicate the fun and openness of this challenge. There were no examples of artwork available to show and I didn’t want to influence the work sent in too much. My solution became a concise exercise in colour and composition. Every frame was composed by hand in order to give the animation a more naive and honest look.I am pleased with the result, it is very watchable and may be considered a work of art in itself!
