Celebrating the Olympic Flame in the North West with dance, aerial performance, music and pyrotechnics - The Moment When opened at Chester racecourse in a spectacular, visually stunning event. The Moment When... is a first time coloration between cheshire Dance and walk the Plank and a commissioning partnership between Arts Council England, Cheshire West and Cheshire, Cheshire East, Warrington Borough Council and the Cultural Olympiad, North West.
Curious Minds attended the event and captured some of the main event on video. As always actually being there was more stunning than can be captured on film. What was particulary great to see was over 20,000 people of Cheshire turning out to celebrate together, the community and family spirit on Chester Racecourse and throughout Chester on the 29 May was fantastic to be a part of. The Moment When... may have happened because of sport, but it was the arts and culture that brought people together. Proving that arts and culture is essential to all parts of our lives and really is that catalyst that brings families, communities and peoples together to share and celebrate. The Moment When... can still be seen at two more further events at:
Orford Jubilee Park, Warrington (16 June)
Tatton Park, Knutsford (15 July)
