For the 2012 edition of Light Festival Ghent, we had the opportunity to choose an inspirational canvas to build an installation. Our main goal was to make the audience experience a certain characters' subconsciousness from within. In this case we chose the great auditorial dome of The University of Ghent. We decided to build a setup that allowed us to project the entire dome from within, creating a full 360° mapping experience.

'Science of Loss' tells you the story of a lonely and segregative physicist, who is obsessed by explaining the things in his life in scientific formulas. This autistic urge has defined his way of thinking so radically, that almost everything he sees, is being processed as a mathematical formula in his subconsciousness. Now, he is being confronted by an unfortunate and traumatizing memory from his past. Will science be able to give him the emotional closure or explanation he is looking for?
