Bikram yoga, which involves 26 yoga poses done in a room heated to 105 degrees fahrenheit, is named after Indian founder Bikram Choudhury. The benefits touted include increased balance, flexibility, strength, and weight loss as well as fighting stress. It is not recommended for pregnant women or people with cardiac problems, high blood pressure or autoimmune disorders.

Before giving my opinion on the subject (notice I say opinion, though I have some facts to back it up), I want to point out that I took a series of Bikram Yoga classes several years ago, so I do have personal experience with this style of yoga. I am in excellent health, with no high blood pressure issues and I still had to stop taking the classes due to the excessive heat causing dizziness and over stretching of the muscles (my fault, but a common issue).
