Spring 2009 - Lakeview Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio
7 months ago
In America, many of the earliest public parks were actually cemeteries, so many large cities carefully landscaped their cemeteries.
One such example is a hidden treasure of the city of Cleveland, Ohio, Lakeview Cemetery. Famous notables interred there included J.D. Rockefeller and Elliot Ness, as well as President Garfield.
Over 100 years old, the landscape plants are well-established and beautiful.
The Lakeview Cemetery is absolutely beautiful in spring. My family and I took a walk through the park and I was able to shoot this footage.
I recently got a new tripod with a fluid head, so I wanting to try some panning shots as well as zooms.
I didn't get to shoot as much as I wanted to, as my kids started to get nutty after about an hour of wandering around the cemetery. ;-)
The building in the final scene is the Wade Chapel, which has a beautiful interior designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany.

Shot on a Canon HG10 with WD-43 wide angle lens. Post in Final Cut Pro.
I was playing around with Gaussian blur on some scenes, so some are crisper than others.
If I have time, I may create another video of the same footage in order to play around with filters a bit more.
The music is "Spiritual" by Pat Metheny and Charlie Hayden. They and their companies own all the rights, yadda, yadda, yadda. Nobody is making any money off this video, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Any/all comments are welcome.
I hope you enjoy this ....
