It's a simple notion... a return to a time when the front porch was a center of family and neighborhood life. In Waterbury Connecticut, a collaboration of realtors, the Neighborhood Housing Association, Habitat for Humanity, the Waterbury Neighborhood Council, and the city, have planted a seed that has germinated into an annual demonstration of community pride that is, at the same time, beautifying the city and and reconnecting neighbors.

I'm meeting some wonderful folks as I travel the neighborhoods for the Front Porch program. One of the first things I've discovered is that sitting on someone's front porch is like being invited into his or her home.

Here are some of the first Front Porch interviews. Would you share your story too? Write to info@FrontPorchDay.com or call 203-528-3803.
