Peter Yealands is one of New Zealand's most inspirational characters, described by the author of his recently published biography as "A true maverick and Marlborough legend". Only ten years after it was established, this year Yealands Estate became the world’s first Approved Wine Supplier to the UK's Sustainable Restaurant Association.
In his earlier career, Peter created the technology to start New Zealand green-lipped mussel farming on a commercial scale and was the first successful operator in the industry which today generates $200 million in export. Peter has also been at the forefront of New Zealand's forestry and deer farming industries.
Hosted by Kea UK at Kiwi-owned restaurant & bar Suze in Mayfair, Peter spoke to a room full of Kiwi wine enthusiasts, while winemaker Tamra Washington introduce the audience to Yealands' premium quality wines.
