Producciones Cimarrón debut documentary about the rural campesino musicians within the son jarocho genre of Veracruz, Mexico that play an acoustic instrument called "la leona". The footage of this film was compiled over a course of four years within the festival "Encuentro de Leoneros" organized by local musicians to bring together all the elder musicians, masters of the leona. This film is a rare glimpse into the traditional cultures within Veracruz, Mexico that remain alive today. This film was created with the intention to be distributed within the communities of these musicians as a tool that could be used to not only educate the future generations but strengthen those of today.
