A moral tale about a mischievous, greedy little boy on a lazy Sundae Afternoon.
This is my postgraduate film, inspired by Godfried Schalcken's painting "Allegory of Virtue and Riches".
I was drawn to the "Allegory of Virtue and Riches" because of its minute size, and found that when you look closely at this painting you see that the girl is shedding a tear. This is due to the regret she feels having made the exchange of virtue for wealth.
The film is about a boy who resorts to extreme measures to satisfy his gluttony. I used this notion of the ends not justifying the means as a subtext to my film, and while developing story and characters. To support the story I used animation techniques such as follow through and squash and stretch, as well as a series of filters and textures, to visually augment the drawn line.
