Like Utopia, the A/W 2012 collection is inspired by the alluring dream of a place, where

everything radiates perfection. "In my perfect world stiffness is forbidden and unique

expression is encouraged. Sterile perfection and still harmony are not interesting - they don't

touch, tease or tempt. It is the variety of colours, personality and contrasts that make life

beautiful. My collection is for women who wish to forget the over-seriousness and be

adventurous. Because you never know where a pair of my shoes will take you."

UTOPIA is a strong collection of daring shapes, vivid colours and material combinations

fused with the crucial element of playfulness. From the bunny ears on the Angora pump to

the sleek feline shape of Pfeiffer, the personality of each shoe bursts with meticulously

tailored details. The collection also reimagines Parikka's recognizable signature heart shape

cutout and drip features in startlingly fresh and sophisticated forms.

Curved block heels and double platforms with orange welted edges strike a harmonic match.

Additional contrasts reveal more of the collection’s character. Reptile patterns comfortably

run with patent, nappa and suede. Classic shades including warm tan, vibrant blue, jet black

and crushed clay red are combined with extravagant dashes of neon pink or orange on the

heel breasts.

The styles vary from pumps and ankle boots to thigh high boots and heavier duty winter

boots, with heel heights extending from 6 to 12 cm. The perfect world is to be fully explored

without compromise.

The Helsinki-based label is going from strength to strength, with stockists in over 20

countries, including Poste Mistress in London, Anthropologie in the U.S., Tsvetnoy

Department Store in Moscow and Al Ostoura in Kuwait.

Since 2006, Minna Parikka's shoes and accessories have graced the feet and bodies of women

all over the world, with celebrity fans including the likes of Lady Gaga, Fergie, Beth Ditto,
