    I recently did something that uses audio to cut between videos in Quartz composer. This is different entirely. good work.

    The patch uses a custom external I wrote that does online k-means clustering en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-means_clustering so every frequency domain input vector is mapped onto a frame, and similar vectors map to the same frame. I don't know if there is a straightforward way to do k-means in Quartz, but you might be able to implement it based on the "demonstration of the algorithm" section on Wikipedia. If the code/patch would explain it better, let me know!
