also known as the Hummingbird Moth or Hawk Moth. This is a White-Lined Sphinx Moth, sipping nectar from dandelions in Paonia, Colorado.
This moth is about the size of a hummingbird, and really looks like some sort of strange mutant. It's a common sight out here in Colorado, but I'd never seen one in colorado.
