In 2009 Tara Livesay, took on the challenge of training for a marathon during the hottest months of year in Haiti, where temperatures raise to over 100 degrees (F) shortly after the sun rises at 6:00am. A veteran marathon runner, Tara added an additional challenge and set her Twin Cities Marathon completion as a fund raiser for Medika Mamba, a feeding program for malnourished children in Haiti being used at Real Hope for Haiti.
Tara set out to raise $2600, what no one expected was how far one woman running through the streets of Haiti could reach and the how many children would eventually be helped by Medika Mamba.
