Dock St. Walking & Running was started to get homeless and everyday people involved in turning their lives around. Many homeless men and women feel hopeless and stay inactive, becoming listless, depressed, and uninspired. We introduce them to exercise outdoors for a breath of fresh air and a rush adrenaline. The energy and endorphins soaring through the body generates positive thinking, personal goals, and the motivation needed to start a better life.
Our team includes people from all walks of life; everyone from the wealthy to the poor, especially the young and newly homeless people we’re seeing from the current economic situation. We create a friendly, non-judgemental atmosphere where everyone is at ease. Anyone can be a part of our walking and running community along the beautiful Dock St. boardwalk in Tacoma, Washington.
