This is a video the building and testing of one full size section of the Chime Generator for the 10,000 Year Clock. This is an updated version that uses the iris style cam system and has the make/break mechanism that stops power from being transmitted downstream when activated.

Eventually there will be 30 sections like this stacked vertically in an underground chamber leading up to the Clock face chamber. It will be several hundred feet tall.

This version is made of steel and aluminum while we sort out the engineering and scaling issues. The next versions will be ceramic, stone, and stainless steel.

The video was shot by Paolo Salvagione, who is also one of the engineers seen in the video. Also seen are Greg Staples - engineer, Chris Rand - lead fabricator, Alexander Rose - project manager, and Jr. Chris' his assistant.
