After installing a new WordPress blog or website, there are some key things you should do for security and search engine optimization.
This video walks you through the steps that I take after installing a new WordPress small business website.
Think of it as a post-install checklist, covering items like:
- Change default Admin userid and password
- Delete default post and comment
- Update WordPress General Settings (Blog title & tagline, email address, time zone)
- Change Permalinks structure for good SEO URLs
- Install All-In-One SEO Plugin
- Install WP-DB-Backup Plugin
