This film is based on kids’ perspective about music and recital in general. Kids probably enjoy to watch this one since they can relate to what is like. However, if you have kid(s) that taking music lesson, this will be refreshing for you to hear what they have to say. It may not be what you expected to hear or wanted to hear as the parents, but it is always fascinated to hear and see from their point of view. So here we go.

Shot with: Canon HV30 and Canon XL1s

Wow! Great job! ArnuShawn. The whole video caught my full attention from start to finish and I was not distracted at all by any of the normal surrounding sound coming from the TV, music, video games, etc. from around the house. As with other pieces of the video you have created, I certainly can see that a lot of time, effort and very artistic thoughts have been put into this one. You certainly have made the whole video a great joy to watch! The music program itself seems quite exciting to be a part of. Christopher and his friends were great. Hey, do I see some future great musicians at work here or what?

Thanks for the great compliment. That certainly is my hope and wish they will be one. The question is how to keep him motivate, so he won't quit the music program.

Is there a better word than wow? I’m totally blowing away on this one. I have seen many kids recital videos in the past, but nothing can compare to this one. Watching this like watching MTV and documentary combine. You certainly have created an ordinary subject to a very interesting thing to watch. I like all of your videos, but I have to say this one is the best. Great job and really really well done!!!

Well, I can't think of any better way to say it, just THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

DAMN !!!! Arnu, I forgot all the part I was supposed to look at. It was so well crafted I was just enjoying it all. The edit was so nicely done that any shakes on the steady was omitted, if there was any outtakes. I'd say say it pass the recital test.

Really, the overall look and feel made me forget what I was supposed to look at. This is the kind of stuff I wish I have more time to do and do it halfway as well.

    Thanks for the share.

The steady definitely will complement your shooting style.

    Hi Big Fellow,

I guess the Poorman Steadycam did the job. However, in reality I did edit out a lot of quaking footages, and the thing is kind of heavy IMO (11 lbs including HV30) to shoot with.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to watch, and I really appreciated your comment.

11 pounds ? and that's without a vest or harness ? I don't think I would last more than a 5 minute shoot for the day. I've had times when my arm gets tired after using the steady for about an hour. I guess that's the price for going DIY

I also enjoyed your other clips. Hope to see some more in the future.

I guess I have to pump more iron bar in the gym to be ready for a day shoot. Thanks

I really enjoy watching this film, nicely done as always. I wish my parents had made me take a piano lesson, but I didn't realize most kids don't like it.

I hope you don't mind me posting this film at my blog, I think people will enjoy watching it as much as I do.

Thanks and as always you are more than welcome to post this at your blog. There are very few kids that like to take the music lesson unless they don't have to practice. It's not until around high school age, then they wish they have the opportunity to learn or wish that they did not quit the program.

    Hi,

I was hoping someone would have asked what im about to ask so that i didnt have to :)

What editing package did you use to cut this master piece? Also in terms of graphics what program did you use to make the opening logo sequence as well the multiple video screens on tc 00:16. Great work.

    Hi D,

I was looking for this message yesterday and could not find it, and now it finally show up. It is strange thing with some Vimeo functions lately. In anyhow, to answer your questions, I use Adobe Premiere CS3 for the editing and PhotoShop CS3 for the graphic.

    Thanks for great compliment.
