One year after the BP oil disaster of 2010, Frances Beinecke explores whether America has taken the steps necessary to prevent another oil spill tragedy. Beinecke serves on President Obama’s National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling.
The commission recently finished its investigation, and Beinecke discusses what caused the disaster, as well as the commission’s recommendations for how the oil industry, federal agencies, and Congress can do more to protect Americans in the future.
