A few months back, Tiffany (TheFekGeek), suggested I start doing weekly vlog updates on Pedal. This post makes week one, I can't promise they won't be completely pointless from time to time, but I'll try to use them as a way to keep myself on track and focused.

I've been importing footage for the last two days - it's been incredibly exciting for me. I wanted to put my workflow out there, and let people suggest ways to improve it, or even completely change it.

If you want to check out the app' I'm using, it's called Punakea (anyone know how to properly pronounce it?). Again, I'd love to hear your feedback.

cool to see your workflow and learn a bit about punakae (think its pronounced "pooh nah key" or something similar :P)

Thanks :) Yea, I'm very happy with the workflow so far - it's been super easy to find what I want and even related tags that help build off ideas.

Plus the tags integrate into everything else on my Mac ;)

    here:
Punakea is a little app trying to help you cope with the day-to-day struggle of managing your files. Designed to complement Spotlight, it allows you to tag your files and bookmarks, freeing you of the strict hierarchy of the Finder's folder structure.

    Mike, do you know:

If you have all your files tagged on a computer, and purchase a new one, how are the tags transferred? Can the tags be backed up if a backup hierarchy is not identical to your system's hierarcy?
  • mike ambs ☂ plus 11 months ago
Hey Dooser :) Yes, the tags that Punakea applies to the file are stored in the spotlight comments. They follow that file everywhere it goes. They can be zipped, backed-up, transfered across machines and different drives, all that. It's very handy.
