Born in an isolated logging-town village in Oregon, Gibson’s delicate folk compositions are the result of being immersed in Bob Dylan’s back-catalogue as a child. Now she’s an integral part of the Pacific Northwest folk scene whose burgeoning career has seen three albums via U.S. label, Hush, and extensive tours across Europe and the US. Similar in style to Feist, her quavering voice and stripped-back acoustic strumming has left many an audience rapt. Latest record, La Grande, expands on the intimate template, experimenting with blues, bossa-nova, and baroque instrumentation.
