We were disappointed that we arrived to Yellowstone National Park a week prior to the roads being plowed. So after a 2 hour detour from our road trip across the United States from Seattle to New York on I-90, we were told that we would only able to drive on one road from the North Entrance to the Northeast Entrance of the park. We actually debated paying the $25 entrance fee, being that we weren't going to see Old Faithful or most of the other attractions in Yellowstone.

Sometimes though, you get results when you're not expecting them. For me, the experience of this coyote tearing into the carcass of a bison was more valuable than the anticipated (and expected) burst of steam from the Old Faithful geyser. Perhaps because it was so unexpected.

Wow, very interesting. I just left Yellowstone a few days ago, there was a grizzly that had been spotted feeding on a bison carcass as well. I didn't see that one, but I wonder if it ws the same carcass. I did get shots of another grizzly (and Old Faithful......lol)

    Nice stuff Tom
