The Tiger Glen Garden at the Johnson Museum of Art, Ithaca, NY, is based on an East Asian painterly theme called the Three Laughers of the Tiger Glen, which expresses the message that narrow adherance to one philosophy or religion is contrary to true wisdom. Although the theme of the garden originated in China over 1000 years ago, the garden is a modern interpretation designed to fit within an elegantly simple, exposed-concrete museum designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners for the Cornell campus.

The garden was built at the Johnson Museum in 2011 through the generous support of Rebecca Morgan and James Morgan.
