Dialogues on an aging existence is a graphic novel, published as an interactive, location based iPad-application. Composed variability and outside influences, as in real life, will affect this story so that each viewing will be different than the previous one.
This project, a non-verbal novel, using dream-demon like handdrawn images that have, or appear to try to have a dialogue, will create a new atmosphere with each viewing through changing sounds, almost music, combined with location based technology. The reader/user will compose the dialogues when he/she activates the iPad, changing as real life changes on our daily journey from birth to death. Also; through the physical movement of the iPad images will change and shutter affecting the nature and feelings of the ‘storyline’ Just as we change our daily storyline/movements. There is only a small text on the first title page from the Dutch architect/furniture maker Gerrit Rietveld which translated into English is: ‘It is not religion that guides or has guided me. It is not idealism that compels me. It is pure egoism, the realization of one's own existence.’
