I spent the first ten years of my life on 42nd 2nd where the bridge is now. The freeway devastated the neighborhood, uprooted families and friends, and forever changed the landscape. A lot of things of my childhood memories went the way of the freeway. It was such a neat neighborhood with the neatest old park building that was torn down in the 70's to make way for the soviet style structure now there. I am not against progress, but it is just a shame what was lost. I feel bad for the couple that lost their home due to the construction, another family devastated.
