Random: GH1 and Nikon Zeiss prime F1.4 in low light
7 months ago
A few VERY random shots knocked off with the Nikon adaptor that I just got in Kauai.
Shot using $90 adaptor from ebay in China and my Nikon Zeiss f1.4 50mm. With the adaptor this became more like a 100mm...
Few issues with the camera shooting 25p interfering with the 60hz artificial lights but no way round that here...be fine in UK ;-)
Wish codec was stronger....17mbps bit stingy.

I just invested in a bunch of FD primes...
24mm f/2.8, 35mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.8, 100mm f/2.8, 135mm f/2.5
And m4/3 to FD adapter for when I get my GH1. Can't wait to start getting some sharper footage with shallow DOF. My HV30/adapter combo just aint cuttin it.
Thanks for the footage.
peace
i believe you'll be very pleased on the lumix !
which m4/3->FD adapter did you order ???
I read some user comments here... photo.net/olympus-camera-forum/00Snus .
Really looking forward to this cam.
Check out vimeo.com/groups/gh1
tasty softness at f1.4... very hamiltonesque.
+ wonderful bokeh on the night traffic as i hoped (how about ISO and any noise issues ?)
...and there shall be much rejoicing to swap lenses at will and cast different looks :D
They quote Sony. But who knows whether they are right.
And Badalamenti is clasisc!
What shutter speed and ISO were you using for most of these shots? I'm guessing the aperture was wide open?
Also, a quick tip I picked up somewhere. Adding a very small amount of noise can help reduce compression artifacts. Something that might help with this camera.
