In 1958, a young Joe Noeske turned up at the race track with a brand new Pontiac sedan that had been turned into a stock car, thanks to builder Bill Earnest. An independent racer, Noeske competed with considerable success against professional teams with manufacturer support for two years on asphalt tracks around the Midwest. When Noeske moved on with his life and away from stock car racing, the Pontiac retired to a farm where it sat for decades until it was found again. Around seven years ago, my father, Dick Wagner, got this car and began piecing together the parts and the history that would put it back together. Its appearance here at the Milwaukee Mile in June 2012 was part of a race day with the ASA Midwest Tour.
