Second segment of a two-part interview:
As a child during World War Two, living in Manila, Rupert Wilkinson was interned as an "enemy alien" in a Japanese-run camp called Santo Tomas. He was five when he, his older sister, and mother were sent to the camp; eight, when the camp was liberated. (His father, meanwhile, was British liaison to General MacArthur.) Rupert is professor emeritus of American studies and history at the University of Sussex in England. He talked at his house in London with host Craig Comstock.
