Some highlights from our trial run in the Simon's Town Harbour earlier this month. Before deploying our new camera rig, we wanted to test it in shallow water (looks like the water visibility let us down a bit that day!) to see if it landed correctly ... and whether we'd record any fish! Look out for some exciting fish, especially puffadder shysharks and pyjama catsharks ...

The University of Cape Town and SAEON, funded by the Save our Seas Foundation, are working to develop cost-effective underwater monitoring for South Africa's coastline.
